This team is beyond disappointing. Did not see this coming. Braves aren’t doing much better.

They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

If I may offer any ray of optimism, the 2019 Nationals were 19-31 on May 23. Of course, that Nats team was significantly more talented than this Tigers squad.

The Braves were under .500 until late June last year too. These are anamolies.

I predict the 2022 Tigers will be a cure for insomnia.
I went to the game where Miggy got 3,000 (and 3,001) with my brother-in-law and a friend from college. We joked after that 13-0 game that the Tigers would be lucky to score 5 runs the rest of the series against Colorado (they’d score a combined 4 in the final 2 games).

In the 14 games since watching that game, the Tigers have gone 2-12. They have been held to under three runs in all but three of those games.

Matt, you’re onto something with this prediction. I might have found a way to trim my zzzzQuil budget.

Ya think the Tigers are coming out of their offensive funk, scoring six runs in the opener of a double-header, then they almost get shut out ONCE AGAIN in the nightcap. :rolleyes

I'm not sure I can handle Baez swinging at pitches a mile wide for six years. >:

It looks like we've got another bad team, after losing 4 of 5 home games to a team with a losing record.

This year looks like a development year for the youngest hitters and pitchers (Torkelson, Greene, Kreidler, Briese, Faedo, Wentz). Another goal would be for the more experienced young pitchers (Mize, Manning) to firmly establish themselves. And also try to get Baddoo back on the right track.

Following last season's second-half revival, I had every expectation they'd AT LEAST be a fun team to watch! :rolleyes
This ain't no fun at all! :?

How about they take batting practice from a REAL pitcher, not just a has-been who tosses from behind a screen. Give them curve balls, sliders, cutters, screw balls, off plate pitches, inside pitches, dust offs, and other real pitches that he might face in a real game. Something real to practice on.

We lost another starter as Pineda broke the middle finger of his right pitching hand. :rolleyes That's FOUR starting pitchers we've lost after only a month-and-a-half! Our once league-leading bullpen can only go so far.

Didn't the Tigers have a very bad stretch in May last year, too?

April was especially brutal last year, but May saw them play .500 ball. In fact, they were close to .500 the remainder of the season.

They bottomed out at 9-24 on May 7, and were 68-61 after that.

How this season began (in terms of W-L record) sure is eerily similar to one year ago. I thank you for the info.

With the way our guys are falling (Skubal being the latest) we may be fielding a genuine AAA team before it's all over. :rolleyes I can't remember a time when an entire starting rotation was hurt.

When at the one-quarter mark of the season and a team has five everyday starters batting at or below the Mendoza line (.200), and old man Miggy leads the team in hitting and RBI, ya gotta believe something is sorely wrong somewhere. :rolleyes
