MSU vs. UM baskets

Post by Honeyman » Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:58 pm

I really can't figure out either team. Thought MSU had turned the corner as good as they looked in Wisconsin, and then shat the bed versus a shorthanded Illini. Michigan looked like crap for months, but seems to have put some things together since their Covid break. Spread at 5 is way too much. If we keep turning the ball over and missing open shots, Michigan wins.

As a Michigan fan my default assumption is MSU will always take any game more seriously than UM. Unless "we" fix that any football or men's basketball matchup is uncomfortable for me.

Michigan probably needs the game more, projected as an NCAA bubble team. I expect a very tight clash.

But buy or make your lovely and wise wife a nice dinner tonight.

It's amazing to me that officials don't T up Izzo more frequently.

Piss poor defense again. I don't like this team.

Fortunately for me I have not been emotionally invested in Michigan basketball since Gail Goodrich put up 42 points for UCLA in the 1965 NCAA championship.

For football it was November 23, 1974 when Mike Lantry missed that game winning field goal that would have given us an 11-0 record. What made it defining was being in a packed bar where everyone thought it was good for about 10 seconds. It looked good on TV but evidently nobody was watching the officials wave it off. It went from sheer pandemonium to almost dead silence when the realization set in.

That was very enjoyable! This Spartan team has a few flaws, but defense isn't one of them. Solid effort....Hoggard was superb.

That Diabate kid could be a beast. Houston is overrated.

Herp Howard with some great halftime adjustments.

Michigan played like crap; extremely disappointing season for a team that was rated top 5 nationally in preseason polling.

I almost forgot about the game. It does explain the smell of axe body spray.
