NFL considers 17-game season and 14 playoff teams

I don't support either idea. Teams depend on having a bye week, and 14 teams is too many for the playoffs.

I agree on both counts. Don't currently watch as much as I used to, and will probably watch less even if there are more games.

I don’t mind a 17 game season, assuming pre season is cut to three games and the bye week stays. There is worry about some teams having 9 home games and some only 8, unless you have more neutral sites such as London, Monterey, etc.

I am against expanding the playoffs. Too many teams waters it down.

I don't mind 17 games you can't have enough football. In the playoffs, it just means the 2 seed doesn't get the bye to the second round just the 1 seed gets the bye I'm fine with it.

I think that more is not always better. All of our major pro sports are now so watered down, and all the leagues can think about is "how can we grow this?" Quantity over quality.

Ah, but if you let everyone in the playoffs, then it ruins the argument "my team hasn't made the playoffs in 'x' years!"
