Today's TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT in Washington DC should be what leads to some immediate firings.

But it won't happen. Everybody will have jobs come next Sunday.

btw - I will continue to point out that they Lions haven't won a game yet without Stafford.

Yep, indeed pathetic. Coaches will not get fired until the offseason, if not next year. I do like they are playing Driskel but I am not seeing much other than some legs. It’s the same as in Cincinnati. Who is the other QB right now? Is it still David Blough? Might as well try him.

They had a losing record with Stafford. That wouldn’t change with him playing.

I'm thrilled they lost today.

Why on earth does anyone want them to win at this point in the season??? I want them to lose every remaining game in order to maximize draft position.

Their next game is this Thursday. Sadly, Martha firing anybody at this point would be showing Da Bears the white flag.

Too bad they fired Jim Caldwell. Even worse, he ended up joining a team with a *slightly* worse record than the Lions!

I am not defending yesterday in any way but they were missing 6 starter's scratched by injury. That is a lot by NFL standards. When you are not very good anyway you can be sure backup players don't make you better.

I was hoping Martha would bring a fresh perspective , emphasis on " hope". I was assuming after WC died that son Bill would take charge with new ideas. I still don't know what happened there.
Loyalty was a downfall of William Clay. Russ Thomas was a train wreck of a General Manager but kept the job for 20 years. Rumors had it was because Russ was Williams AA sponsor and dragged him to sobriety.

Jim Caldwell can’t manage a clock to save his life. He must have learned that from Andy Reid.

After yesterday's embarrassment.... I'm wondering...

... do we even need a football team here?

The only common denominator is the Ford family for the last 56 years. There draft position does not matter because they don't know how to draft, it only helps those that draft right behind them. TJ Hockenson had the 1 good game, that's it. While other teams go thru their ups and downs as a franchise the Lions remain a steady below average franchise stuck in mediocrity with no hope. Anyone that has coached here never goes onto another head coaching gig. Good players become neutered by the franchise failures. Nothing matters- perhaps we could be so lucky like Cleveland and the Fords move the team elsewhere and we get someone hungry to win in about 5-7 years. 49ers sucked a few years back and now are at the top of the mountain with promise and hope. Nothing here folks but a big shit

Can they get rid of the "onezies" and just wear a real uniform. Those have to have a mental impact on the players. Should just have them wear pink uniforms as It'd have the same effect.

Yeah, Hockenson with what appears to be a season ending injury in the last minute of the game! How fitting.

Offensive production in the second half was pathetic.

Amendola had an absolutely terrible game. He's the biggest reason the Lions lost, IMO.

The Lions are not a good team and both the coach and GM should be fired IMO.
Getting that out of the way I want to think/hope they maybe are not as bad as their record. There were several loses where they were in the game late and had chances to win but didn't. The fact that they didn't get those wins when they had chances is why they aren't a good team.
But maybe they aren't as bad as their record in that a couple made plays or stopped plays here and there could have changed the outcome of a few games in their favor. I know that may be a lot of woulda coulda shoulda mumbo jumbo.
And again I'm not saying they are a good team with a bad record but maybe the are a mediocre team with a bad record.

Driskel is done for the season. We'll get to see a lot of Blough. Signed quarterback Kyle Sloter off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
