WTF was he thinking going for a 2-pt conversion in that situation????

Why not trust your D (who was great all day...surprisingly so) and go for the extra point instead? One defensive stop thereafter would've ensured OT at worst!

He has a weird obsession with 2-point conversions, I guess. It cost MSU a possible (some might even say probable) win today.

Yeah I don't get that at all. I thought teams only ever consider doing that when there's less than a minute left and they're on the road. Neither applied today. Plus, even if you get it, all that's gonna do is get Ohio State to be aggressive on offense.

I have to agree, there was too much time on the clock for either team to score. Sure, you play to win the game, but not hand the game over to the other team to lose.

Dantonio said he made the call to go for two in part because, with four minutes left on the clock, Michigan State still had time to make a defensive stop and then kick a game-winning field goal on its final drive if the conversion failed.

The above logic on Dantonio's part is mystifying given laws of probability and the way the game had progressed until that point.

Yeah, he could have done that anyway with a tie game...DUH! Oh well, when you're 3-7 yadda, yadda, yadda.... :rolleyes

Wonder if he will be mentioned for any of the openings down south this offseason...

Brady Hoke will be available and Rich Rodriguez might be available too! Both meet the one requirement a State coach needs: hatred for Michigan.
