It wasn't pretty - that unsportsmanlike call against Michigan was utter bullshit and I'm not certain that INT even should have been overturned - but I'll take the win. :)

I desperately wanted Penn State to be held to single digits on the scoreboard.
Win 999. It wasn't pretty, but they got it done.

I can confidently say I'm rooting for MSU tonight.

Fuck Ohio State.

Congrats to UMers out there, but State Pen deserved the loss. That fourth down pass to nowhere was the ultimate FUBAR leading to oblivion.

💯

I don't know if I've ever seen Happy Valley's faithful so angry at their team as what I witnessed today.

Did those fans not realize their Nittany Lions were the underdogs???

Some of the errant passes were definitely deserving of boos, but there were other moments where they booed for no good reason. At one point, the play clock was nearing zero and a timeout was called. Big deal. Yet the fans booed.

Before that he had one in praise of Harbaugh. My daughter swears she heard 3. I distinctly heard two.

I don't get why Penn St went for it on 4th and 6 on their own 30 with 4:25 to go and one score down. They were handing Michigan 3 points at least if they failed.
I also don't get why they went for 2 after the last TD. Kick the 1 and your down by one score. Miss the 2 and your down by 2 scores.

You need at least one 2 pt conversion, so mathematically it doesn't matter which TD you go for it on, except going for it on the first one and succeeding does give you the extra option of going for 2 a second time if you score again and outright winning in regulation. Otherwise the math is basically a coin flip.

It's not about "mathematics" at that point its about staying in the game. Kick the one and your still alive, down by one score. . Miss the two and your dead, down by 2 scores with not enough on the clock. I 100% stand by my point.

It's not about "staying in the game," rather it is about the final score, and I guarantee you that if you ran 1 million simulations at that exact point in the game comparing going for 1 vs 2 in that spot that the team that goes for 2 would win very slightly more often than the one that goes for just 1. (we're talking something like winning 5.0% of the time vs 4.9%).

No one disputes Penn State should've punted on 4th down on their prior drive, am I right?

I'm with Craig. If you're down by 8, you are one score away. 9 means you have to score twice. Mentally, that's night and day.

The first try for 2 after the 1st TD was idiotic too, as was MWs point about punting with 4+ left. Those decisions can be summed up in two words. James. Franklin.

BMW might.
