Glad MSU apologized shouldn't put Hitler up on a scoreboard.

The word INEXCUSABLE is in the dictionary for a reason. This is one if them. There is no acceptable excuse for that to possibly happen.

However, it was the only time today MSU successfully landed a blitz.

For something to get up on a scoreboard like that how many people have to give a thumbs up? Just one?
If it's more than one how did they not ask a couple basic questions like "Is this a good idea?". "What could go wrong if we do this?"
To be fair to MSU this sort of bad idea stuff happens all to often all over the place.

Edit: I see the trivia was subbed out to a now fired third party.

What did MSU expect when they hired The Proud Boys to curate their Trivia?

Whoever did it, I'd love to access their social media and the posters on their bedroom wall.

Will Harlon Barnett still be interim head coach after this weekend?

He seems like a nice man - nothing personal against him - but he clearly is incapable as a head coach at the Big Ten level.

Putting Hitler on the scoreboard as a trivia question, especially on the same day a very prominent Jewish civic leader was murdered outside her home in Detroit and when you are hosting an opponent with a sizable Jewish alumni and student body cohort - is in extremely poor taste.
My theory is that they wanted to distract people from that sorry ass game.

It was 100% laziness. The whomevers that licensed the content didn't bother to watch it first and got burned.

The Board of Trustees at MSU is pissed, and I don't blame them for feeling that way. They are demanding a complete explanation from the athletic department and from university administration as to the Hitler scoreboard incident.

So it was doubly lazy. Just lifted from YouTube without licensing it.

Very very unlikely that this was done on purpose to offend. Just someone that was given too much responsibility to provide entertaining content and failed in about the most spectacular fashion possible.

This is about the easiest thing to investigate/explain ever. Someone got too comfortable relying on content that wasn't produced in house. They made a mistake and it wasn't an important enough gig to have oversight. Until last night.

So if they never actually paid for the service, and it was an employee issue. Was yesterday's press release "terminating the contract with a vendor" just a big lie?

Terminating the contract = unsubscribed from the YouTube channel
