Both teams looked like NIT teams today.
Was this the first Big Ten game you've ever seen? I agree that the outside shooting was awful, but the defense was actually very good on both sides.

Both teams missed plenty of uncontested shots.

100%. It was not an impressive game offensively. I was kinda hoping it would end 51-45.......

It went about as well as Michigan's game did.

They also had a TD taken away? Crazy shit!

Yes! Like Michigan, MSU has never lost a game legitimately. Every loss was due to incompetent refs, crowned fields, time keepers, and weather.

A lot of bricks by both teams they couldn't buy any baskets if their life depended on it today.

I never gave Michigan a chance after that pathetic loss at home to CMU. I'm hard pressed to think of a more embarrassing loss for the program over the past 20 years. It's bad enough losing to a team from the MAC. It's a 100x worse losing to a team that is crappy even by MAC standards. I mean, CMU lost to fucking EASTERN on Saturday. Eastern is one of the worst Division I teams in the entire country. CMU couldn't defeat them, yet they defeated the Wolverines.

I was expecting MSU to win yesterday by double digits, in all honesty.

Not gonna win many games when you shoot 3 of 20 from 3-point land.

I give Michigan almost zero chance of making the NCAA tournament this year.

I dont watch a lot of UM basketball, but my impressions after yesterday is they are not particularly well coached. There is so much one-on-one offense from guys who are not great creators. Their biggest mismatch is Dickinson and he does a very good job recognizing double teams and passing out of it. He should be touching the ball at least 60% of the time. You do not even need a set play for that, yet UM does not get him the ball enough and barely runs any sets at all. I know that Llewellan kid is out, so that might be part of it, but I still don't really understand what they are trying to do offensively.

I haven't watched them much, either, and based on recent performance - I have little desire to do so!

They probably are poorly coached. A John Beilein coached team would never have lost to a shitty CMU team.

John Beilein lost to a shitty team from New Jersey. There were a lot of years where people wanted Beilein out.

That 15-17 season of his stunk for sure (that was not the year of the loss in question, I might add). I wanted him gone at the time. By year five, he finally had the program on the right track.

Howard inherited a program that was in great shape, unlike JB.

Year 8 of Beilein - lost to NJIT and eastern consecutively: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014%E2 ... tball_team

That was a disastrous season; I had forgotten about that one.

NJIT? Good lord. I didn't even know a school by that name even existed.
