Re: Detroit Lions 2023
Dallas is getting crushed in Buffalo. I realize Dallas is a far better home team than road team, but still...this is rather stunning.
Dallas just dropped a couple spots on my list. The Dolphins, meanwhile, won 30-0 against the Jets. I'd have to say after this afternoon's events that Miami is the third best team in the NFL, maybe second best. We shall see how Baltimore fares tonight.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: Detroit Lions 2023
Miami is hardly the 2nd best team in the NFL. They beat the Jets....WOOOO! And last week they blew a 14 point lead with 4 minutes left to the Titans, at home. They have yet to beat a team with a better than 500 record.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:49 pmDallas is getting crushed in Buffalo. SF is far and away the class of the league. The 2nd best team, whether it's Baltimore...Philly...Buffalo...Detroit....is light years away from the Niners. As long as Purdy, CMC, and Deebo stay healthy, these guys march to the SB.

You're right, dem Cowboys are cowpokes when they hit the trail; Vegas had :'em pegged. And Miami just shut out the most dysfunctional offense in the league; the Jets' O-line today was a veritable seive. Saleh must be wondering what he got himself into.
Yes, it's the Niners (when fully healthy) and everyone else, at least in the NFC. I still think their success with Mr. Irrelevant under center is a great story.

Just out of curiosity, if the playoffs started today, where and who would the Lions be playing?

It would probably be appropriate to ask that after Monday night's Eagle/Seahawks game, it has possible ramifications.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:24 pmJust out of curiosity, if the playoffs started today, where and who would the Lions be playing?

Re: Detroit Lions 2023
This is true. I guess I'm interested because it's looking like Philly, SF, TB and the Lions will be division winners, so I'm wondering where this maps out. If today was the last day of the season.moldyoldie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:30 pmIt would probably be appropriate to ask that after Monday night's Eagle/Seahawks game, it has possible ramifications.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:24 pmJust out of curiosity, if the playoffs started today, where and who would the Lions be playing?

Re: Detroit Lions 2023
Right now they'd be home against the Vikings.
Good news is the way things sit now, barring a miracle run at a bye, they're going to get either the #2 or #3 seed, meaning, they won't have to play the 2nd place team in the East (Philly or Dallas). The wild card from the East will end up playing the winner of the South.
So that means their possible opponents are, in order of likelihood based on tiebreakers and probability of getting a wild card:
1 - Rams
2 - Vikings
3 - Seahawks
4 - Packers
5 - Saints
6 - Falcons
7 - Bears
8 - Giants
The storyline if they draw the Rams will obviously be Stafford coming to town.

In the wake of allowing a bad Titans team to come back and beat them last week: After Monday night collapse, can the Miami Dolphins be trusted?MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:49 pmDallas is getting crushed in Buffalo. As the sub-header put it: Miami has gotten fat and happy beating up on bad teams. I would add that the Jets shutout doesn't help their standing on that score.
Looking at your list from this morning, I'd have dropped Miami to #6, pushing Philly and Detroit each up 1. Everything else in the Top 7, I'd agree. Now? TBD.
Re: Detroit Lions 2023
Baltimore may be closer than you think, and next week could very well settle that debate.

Re: Detroit Lions 2023
Both Jalen Hurts (Eagles - illness) and Geno Smith (Seahawks - groin) are listed as questionable for tonight's game. What's more, Matt Patricia will now be calling in the defensive plays for the stumbling Eagles!
I agree, the Ravens are looking very formidable, they have it all. Lamar is looking like Superman.

plenty of people talk about how QB play has declined over the past few years but WRs have dropped off as well.
Fucking Packers defense couldn't stop Karen Carpenter from going to a buffet.
