"Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac
The song peaked at number 5 on the Hot 100 chart, but when was the last time it was on the radio? 1987?
Every other one of their hits gets played to death to this day. Even ones that charted much lower still get plenty of airplay, but not this.
Why?
I've even heard WOMC play deep cuts like "Monday Morning".

It never did that much for me. Like the rest of the album, it's too polished. I was surprised that it peaked at #5, maybe because it was the first single released from the Tango in the Night album.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 6:35 amThe song peaked at number 5 on the Hot 100 chart, but when was the last time it was on the radio? 1987?

No Fleetwood Mac album since 2003 "Say You Will" & 2014 (4 song EP) "Extended Play" (only on Apple iTunes). Lindsey Buckingham's self - titled from November 2021 is another excellent album. Don't care for Stevie Nicks solo work. The Buckingham McVie duet CD from 2018 isn't too bad!! Christine McVie just released "Songbird" (her 4th solo album).

I think "Tango In The Night" from May of 1987 is a great sounding album!! Back then, Stereo Review magazine named the album "Best Of The Month"!! Lindsey Buckingham 1992 album "Out Of The Cradle" (his 3rd solo album) remains his best album!!

It had been 5 years since the last album, so everyone was probably just overhyped about a new single and it got overplayed.

Fleetwood Mac before Stevie Nicks was excellent.

Re: "Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac
The 1970-1974 era is epic
I'm not a fan of their 60s Blues incarnation though.
I start with Kiln House.
Edit: well, maybe not their last album with Welch, "Heroes Are Hard To Find". I can't even decipher what genre it's supposed to be.
Pretty boring album besides the extremely epic title track sung by Christine.
"Mystery to Me" and "Penguin" are my favorites from that era. I even have Penguin on vinyl.
I have a bunch of their albums on vinyl actually.
Penguin, The white album, Rumours, and Mirage.
And a couple 45s. Little Lies b/w Ricky, and I think Dreams maybe
Music is my life.

“Bare Trees” and “Hypnotized” are actually my two favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes from that era.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 8:56 pmThe 1970-1974 era is epic

Haven't heard it in forever but I liked Tango In The Night. I remember listening to the cassette on my Walkman at night as a freshman in the dorm room in the fall of 87 as my complete stranger roommate always went to sleep quite early.
