Ronnie Hawkins dies
Singer Ronnie Hawkins who did the original "Mary Lou" in August of 1959, later done by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band from late 1976 album "Night Moves" has died at 87 years old. Ronnie discovered Canadian group The Band in late 1967!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Hawkins

Actually, Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks in late 1967 changed the name to The Band!!
