Leonard Nimoy 1967

Post by Ben Zonia » Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:53 am

I know some of you may be "Lord Of The Rings" fans and perhaps ran around with paperback copies of "The Hobbit" when you were young, in between Chess Club meetings, but did you ever hear this one? It didn't chart anywhere, although one single from the same album, "Diary Of A Sad Planet" reached #22 on the WLS Silver Dollar Survey the same year. "The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins" was released on a single on Dot Records.

Thanks.
Last weekend we watched the 2012-14 Hobbit trilogy.
I remember "Frodo Lives" graffiti where I worked in the late 70's. And I'm one of those folks that read all 4 books more than once back in my youth.

"A Visit To A Sad Planet" went to # 121 (Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100) in September 1967. "Bilbo Baggins" did not chart. The albums "Mr. Spock's Music From Outer Space" went to # 83 in August 1967. The next album "Two Sides Of Leonard Nimoy" went to # 97 in April 1968. Nimoy made 3 more albums between 1968 till 1970 on Dot Records. The last album from 1970 is not on Apple iTunes but the rest of Nimoy's catalog is.
