Jazz fusion keyboardist Chick Corea (Return To Forever) has died of cancer at 79 years old. Return To Forever "Romantic Warrior" & his "My Spanish Heart" (both from 1976) are must haves!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick_Corea

I saw them play in support of the "Romantic Warrior" album in a well tuned concert hall in Portland, OR. Remarkable set of musicians. I have listened to "Majestic Dance" off the recording a million times and to this day I still can't keep up with the band in the drumming along with my hands department.

RIP Jazz Cat

While his "electrified" work with Miles Davis during the Bitches Brew sessions led to his skyrocketing popularity and the subsequent formation of Return To Forever, it was his solo acoustic piano and duet releases with vibraphonist Gary Burton on the ECM label that graced my turntable the most.

RIP

Finally, someone with whom I'm familiar and someone about whom I really care.

Not some two week wonder from TMZ.

Rest in peace, Chick.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.
