They recreated their first day’s playlist today starting today at 7am. What a difference in playlists for a classic rock station today versus 20 years ago! Heavy rotation of the Doors, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, early Bob Seger, CCR, Chicago. Lots of crossover R&B...

I remember this pretty well! actually this was around the time I started talking radio online, on a long gone message board, I want to say 100000watts.com but I don't know if that's right. The Philadelphia section was a riot I do remember.

Anyway back on topic, I used to really like CD94.7, thought that was a good station but I liked The Drive as well. It does sound very different now then it did then. The big selling point of The Drive, was, no dumb contests or wacky morning show. 20 years, doesn't seem possible.

Now it's boring butt rock and the safest overplayed 90's stuff like every classic rock station. Shame, it was good once upon a time.
