Change at WMAL DC

Post by paul77136 » Thu Aug 01, 2019 9:12 am

Change in DC; WMAL is now 105.9 FM only. AM 630, the home of top-rated Harden and Weaver during its heyday a half century ago, is now just another generic ESPN Radio repeater (ESPN 630). This happens just months after Cumulus sold the AM’s long-time transmitter site in Bethesda and moved 630 to a duplex at the much less optimal 570 WSPZ site in Germantown.

I guess this is actually good news.

From what I read, I guess 630 was just simulcasting WMAL-FM.

Now they're repeating ESPN radio off of the bird. No interest to me, but I guess a few people there may be interested.
