Rochester New York Weatherman

Hey, some of us like to talk about happenings in other areas of the country, too. Here's the place to do it.

By now you've probably about the Rochester, New York weatherman who used the word "coon" in a reference to Martin Luther King Jr.:

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/201 ... -slur.html

It seems like he just had a slip of the tongue and accidentally combined King and Junior.

What's scary is the way different people have jumped on this like he was the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan. It seems like they have a personal or political or professional need to grandstand on this issue.

Why would this guy use such a word, knowing it would probably destroy his career?

Agreed, sounds like we was talking too fast, and it was a slip of the tongue. Anybody who doesn't understand that must have another agenda.
