I must have hit something by accident. Is there a way to change the settings from what would be called "desktop mode" to "mobile view" or anything like that?

Assuming you're on a phone or tablet, that's most likely something you clicked on your phone's web browser so you'll have to change it there - something like "Request Mobile Site"
