OJ Simpson Kicks The Bucket, Age 76

Woe to you, oh earth and sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

I had a wonderful Friday Night Happy Hour in Beaver Creek with a bunch of co-workers in 1994 watching the slow chase. It was a great time.

On that Friday night, a buddy and I were in the car on our way down I-75 to take in a Mud Hens game. The chase was still ongoing as we strolled in to old Ned Skelton Stadium. In those pre-internet, pre-cellphone days, I remember thinking that we would probably walk out of the game to the news that OJ was gone, either by his own hand or suicide-by-cop. We were shocked to learn that instead they had managed to take him into custody.

Here’s a question : did OJ get a fair trial and an impartial jury?

Or did the jury acquit to reverse the public feelings after the Rodney King incident and ensuing riots in 1992?

I think OJ had good attorneys.

I was at Tiger Stadium that night too. I remember the radio broadcast of the chase being blared on the loudspeakers as people were walking out.

Alan Dershowitz yesterday said “he would have represented the victims had they called him first before OJs team”

However, doesn’t the prosecutions case against an accused killer come from the district attorneys office of prosecuting attorneys working for the govt?

Not sure what Dershowitz angle is here, other than to keep his own name in the news.
He typically has been a criminal defense lawyer, one of the people on Jeffery Epstein’s list of friends .

Also, Dan Abrams yesterday relayed his own memories, such as Johnny Cochran waiting to join the team. He kept urging to someone to get the case tried in LA. The other competing site was Santa Monica , or some wealthier white location. Cochran felt inner city blacks would be swayed to acquit OJ in order to stick it to the cops for their mistreatment of blacks in previous years (Rodney King as an example).

Cochran was right, they located the trail in city of LA, he joined the team as a result, and the rest is history.

Call it Freudian slip or TDS, I found the end of the OJ story published by the LA Times on Apple News yesterday amusing...

This is pretty bad...

When OJ presumably lied about not being in hospice care in February, he mentioned Trump: https://twitter.com/TheRealOJ32/status/ ... jY0Rw&s=19
