An Automotive Question
An Automotive Question
All of our neighbours in Florida, who leave a vehicle there from year to year, disconnect the battery before departing for the season. The vehicle's onboard computer continuously draws current and can drain the battery. How long can a vehicle be left wth the battery still connected?
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

With a new battery maybe two months.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: An Automotive Question
That's about how long we'll be away. Better disconnect. Thanks

Re: An Automotive Question
And if you have a 2017 Camaro or Corvette, it's 7 days. Had multiple customers experience the same issue. I dealt with the same customer from Mississippi 3 separate times during a 2 month span. Never a good idea to leave your vehicle in the hot sun for too long if you live in the South, even if for only a handful of months.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Maybe try a dash solar charger?

My parents have a 2021 Sierra and 2015 Yukon Denali. They’ve learned the hard way that the battery needs to be disconnected when they go to FLA for the winter as the Yukon has killed 2 new batteries 2 years in a row despite me starting the vehicle up every couple of weeks.
Re: An Automotive Question
Consider a trickle charger, or a solar charger as Audiophile mentioned.

We're only going away for a few weeks. I'll just disconnect.

Re: An Automotive Question
If the battery drains down, use a jump box to get it started, let it run for a while, and the battery will charge back up.
