Notes On Las Vegas

Post by Turkeytop » Thu Aug 11, 2022 10:14 pm

Everything is overpriced. But as long as you know about it ahead of time you budget for it and just accept it. But even I was shocked at $16 for a shot of Crown Royal.

There is loud music pounding from speakers everywhere. There's no escaping it It's in the streets, in the bars, in the retaurants, in the shops, In the casinos, in the hotel lobby and in the elevators I'm surprised they don't pump it into the rooms

Everyone is hustling. Selling tickets for shows, for sightseeing tours and thrill rides. I was accosted by a hooker right in front of my hotel at 8:00 AM.

The heat is disgusting. And that makes everything else worthwhile. I love the desert heat. I expect I'll feel comfortable in my hereafter life.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

No mention of the rain? I hear it's flooded.

Rain is rare in the desert but, whike we were there, there was about a ten minute downpour one day. Evidently, at this time of year, that can happen. There were warnings on the radio and TV for flash flooding

Got home late Wednesday night, While we were on the plane waiting to depart. the flight crew were urging everyon to hurry and stow our carryone and get seated. A thunder storm was closing in on us and if we didn't get off right away, we could be delayed by the storm.

No she didn't.

I tried ten bucks in the slots and, at one point I was up to about $25. I should have quit but I kept playing until it was gone.

I could never get addicted to gambling. I hate losing.

My wife is the same way. Losing a roll of quarters drives her insane.

I have no issues with table games, I set my limits, which are pretty conservative, and stick to them. I do bet a fair amount on sports though. You have to be disciplined there. Once you start chasing, you're done.
