End of Facebook as you know it?

Post by kager » Wed Feb 16, 2022 6:18 am

The 'parent company' name change to Meta in October, recent record single-day losses in the value of the company's stock, and now this...

Meta. Metamates. Me, ???

Do these things seem to indicate the internal collapse of fb is not far down the road?

Seems anyone interested in Facebook already has an account. Of those I know who are not on it, none really seem interested in getting started.
To me, it would kind of make sense if they start losing revenue.

It isn't the end as I know it, because I don't know it at all.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

I don't think it'll just up and disappear, but MySpace went away in the blink of an eye. I think I might start printing off my pictures on my account anyway. Lots of memories I'd hate to lose.

I think it’s disappearing would be a benefit. The other social media platforms seem to be more benign.

MyFamily.com was going good until it was bought out by Ancestry.com. They lasted about 2 years, then were shut down. No revenue stream for the new company.

Face in the book needs to be tossed off a 100 story building already, a dreadful place. Why is myspace even in existence anymore?

Looks like you are doing a good job, Reaper. Facebook employees/Meta mates are quitting left and right.

Seems to me more like AssBook rather than FaceBook.
