This "----- who?" schtick is getting tiresome. Animal House which he produced, and Ghostbusters and Stripes that he directed are classic movies. Not to mention the guy is a Canadian.

I guess he was a Canadian I never heard of. But I remember the Ghostbuster song.

Agree.
The predictable "_______ who?" response implies the person's death isn't worth mentioning. If you don't know (or care) who it is then move on to another thread.

Sadly, thousands of people die every day. But it seems the only ones "worth mentioning" are celebrity liberals.

He once said of himself, "I've always been something of a conservative-slash-libertarian.", but even if he was a "liberal celebrity", he was a person with friends and family, and from all accounts, a good man.

Perhaps no response at all would have been appropriate.

Conservative/liberal/conservative/liberal/conservative. There's little difference. They share the same pro-capitalist anti-working class ideology. The only real difference is that conservatives are open and forthright about their disdain for the working class. Liberals pretend to be our ally.

Thanks for the civics lesson. You missed my point entirely.

I am saddened by this. Not only did he produce some of the funniest films from my younger days, he was a really cool, down to earth human being.

I briefly met Ivan in Las Vegas years ago. He was having lunch with Dave Thomas and Harold Ramis. Thomas thought I was someone he knew and said "hey, how ya doing?" to me as I was walking by their table. I stopped and said hi. He then figured out I wasn't who I though I was. All three of them were very gracious, very cordial to this nobody and joked about it. Even invited me to join them. Unfortunately, I had a meeting that was starting in 10 minutes and had to decline.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

My one brush with greatness was a chance encounter with Michael Moore, also in Las Vegas.
What a dope!

Love stories like that.

Harold Ramis was another one who left us too early.

If Ivan Reitman had never done anything else in his life, he would be forever remembered for this scene from Stripes:

Bowling for Columbine and Roger and Me are great films that a socialist like you should support.

They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
