So You Think Your Water Is Safe?

Post by TC Shuts Up » Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:51 pm

A lot of people think their water is safe.

This site says otherwise. Consider 48104, Utopia, MI.

Lots of Radium. Isotopes of Radioactive elements breaking down create Radon gas, prevalent in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties.

Maybe The folks in Flint can use some of that $660M to help those people out.

It's all about the 100 dollar bills, and the politics of course.

Bill Ballenger was right all along.

Those acid levels might explain a lot, LOL.

The radon issues in parts of Washtenaw County are well documented.

Would be nice if the linked web site would show ppb or ppm data, the limits it seems safe, and the limits the EPA considers safe.

They interviewed the Watershed Council on WJR a few years ago. The Flint River does not inherently cause problems due to pH. it was the additive they used. The Detroit Water system has a vested interest in keeping Flint using their system, so they keep saying the problem was the Flint River.

Any claim that GM made about the water rusting parts is suspicious. I worked as a Metallurgist for a short while, and it was the part washers that were the biggest part of the problem. There were leaks in the part washer tanks, resulting in constant replacement of the water in the tanks, making the pH go down. They really needed to put alkali in the tank and test on a constant basis, or fix the leaks!

That's right. The wrong mixture of additives was used, which (a) turned the water into (mild) hydrochloric acid and (b) caused lead and other materials to leach from the pipes.

Oakland County dumping has contaminated the Clinton River as well as other water sheds leading to Lake St Clair. It is disgusting.

Also, I don’t trust the water here either after the hexovalent chromium dumping from that asshole’s shop in Madison Heights near 696. That conveniently got “lost” after the story went public in January 2020 due to the COVID outbreak.
