I normally don't use drive thru anywhere, except during these covis times, when the working class is forced to use the drive thru with inferior service.

Come to Michigan where even the millionaires are relegated to the drive thru.

These are 2018 numbers, but here are the Top 15 fast food chains (excluding pizza joints) in the US ranked by gross sales.

1 - McDonalds ($39 billion)
2 - Starbucks (20 billion)
3 - Subway (10 billion)
4 - Taco Bell (10 billion)
5 - Chic-Fil-A (10 billion)
6 - Wendy's (10 billion)
7 - Burger King (10 billion)
8 - Dunkin' (9 billion)
9 - Panera Bread (6 billion)
10 - Chipotle (5 billion)
11 - Sonic (4 billion)
12 - KFC (4 billion)
13 - Arby's (4 billion)
14 - Dairy Queen (4 billion)
15 - Jack in the Box (3 billion)

Just a few observations:
Chic-Fil-A has 2.5x as many sales as KFC
McDonalds beats out Burger King + Wendy's + Arby's combined.
KFC does 1/10th the sales of McDonalds.

Same store sales average would be the best way to measure it.

Those are in the link I posted.

Chick-Fil-A dominates that category with $4.1 million in sales per year per location.

Subway is near the very bottom of the list at a mere $420,000. I don't even know how individual locations could make much of a profit with gross sales that low.
