"But wait, there's more!"
"But wait, there's more!"
Ron Popeil, infomercial extraordinaire, who brought us such future garage-sale collectors' items as the Veg-O-Matic and Pocket Fisherman*, passed away this week @ 86.

Re: "But wait, there's more!"
I first learned of this in a fishing blog. Someone posted a pic of him with the rod.
Re: "But wait, there's more!"
The Pocket Fisherman was terrible.
Ronco's products had more than their fair share of jokes lobbed at them, and rightfully so; One of the more famous was the Bass-O-Matic '76 on SNL...
BTW - question to the previously-posed $400 answer was Who is TT?

But wait, there's more...

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

This is my best friend Doug...best man at my wedding. Got paid $550 for this...the scene with the girl was at Ron Popiels house.

Ol Ron will be there at the gate, telling St. Peter "But wait. There's more."
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Not a bad gig. 350.00 is about 1400.00 in 2021 money.Honeyman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:17 amThis is my best friend Doug...best man at my wedding. Got paid $550 for this...the scene with the girl was at Ron Popiels house.

Guess it started early in the morning and wound up late at night so I it was about a 12+ hour gig. He told me that everybody was non-union and if that wasn't the case, he would have made a fortune because he would have gotten paid every time it ran....and it ran A LOT!Bryce wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:54 amNot a bad gig. 350.00 is about 1400.00 in 2021 money.Honeyman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:17 amThis is my best friend Doug...best man at my wedding.
