I know, I know. Random thoughts from someone who ponders too much.

I keep wondering if the Gates divorce is going to save that couple more than a few pennies if the proposed tax laws taxing the top one percent actually come to fruitation. Could those two possibly be splitting up "on paper" to pay less taxes?

I know a couple of couples that did just that. They paid less taxes by divorcing. Both couples never left each other. And only a few knew they were divorced.

Gates hasn't been skirting taxes to this point, I doubt their divorce and the division of 135 Billion dollars will allow them the fall below the taxing threshold.

I am sure they appreciate a regular joe like you being concerned about their tax strategy.

Divorces are so rare these days, they're always big news.

Someone should check TMZ to see if one of these persons is transgender.
