Hungry Man

Post by Turkeytop » Sat Feb 20, 2021 7:57 pm

We had a busy day today so, at suppertime, my wife just popped a couple of those Hungry Man frozen dinners into the oven. All I can say is, I'd have to be a really hungry man, to ever eat one again. Disgusting. I've had better meals on an airplane or in a hospital. I expect prison food would probably be better. The only thing in it that had any flavour was the salt. And there was plenty of that. :barf :barf

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Ya know, opening a tin of sardines, toasting up some quality bread and cracking open a package of good sharp cheese would have been quicker AND better!

Not to mention, it goes REALLY well with beer!

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

It all depends on which ones. The beer batter chicken is horrible.

And so was the Salisbury Steak.

I have had it. Not that bad. Not what I would select personally but not bad.

The Boneless Fried Chicken is the only one I will eat. It’s tolerable.

Some of the best food I ever had was in a hospital. As a teen I had a tumor removed form my spine. The head of the food service was a retired 5 star chef who missed cooking but not the restaurant grind. The food was amazing. Lamb Chops with Mint Sauce, Standing Rib Roast with all the trimmings. Fresh pastries three times a day plus great breakfasts and lunches. I gained five pounds the two weeks I was in. The cafeteria was a hot place for teen date nights Friday and Saturday because of the food quality and silly low prices

In my original post I made reference to prison food, although I have no idea what kind of food they serve in prison.

I once read an account by someone who had spent some time in prison. He said every night they would line up with a tray and someone would hand them a plateful of slop. He said they would always also be given a dish of pudding, or Jello, etc for desert. But, he said you don't really get to eat that. One of the tough inmates would reach over and take it from your tray and put it on their's. You don't say a word about it.
