A Geometry Question
A Geometry Question
On a circular piece of work, how do I locate the exact centre?
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.
Re: A Geometry Question
Couldn't you run a tape measure from it's widest point, and wherever the halfway mark is, that would be the exact center?

Re: A Geometry Question
I suppose, if I drew two such lines, the point where they intersect would be dead centre

Re: A Geometry Question
That's the method I was taught in high school...it seems to be preferred by most. I would prefer an equation, but that was never taught if I remember correctly...
take this job and shove it
Re: A Geometry Question
The intersecting line method requires you connect EXACTLY at 3,6,9, and 12 o'clock. If you are off on any of the four, your center will be incorrect.
Get a circumference measurement and divide it by four. That number will be the distance between your points.

Re: A Geometry Question
You could use compass and move the center around untill it lines up entire arc.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

I only have a small, school type compass. Wouldn't be wide enough.audiophile wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2020 10:31 pmYou could use compass and move the center around it lines up entire arc.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
