Stimulus Is Here!

Post by Deleted User 4520 » Wed Apr 15, 2020 10:03 am

I had $1200 stimulus deposited to my bank account today. So many things I should do and things I want to do with it. Decisions, decisions... :rollin

Bills... bills... bills... a real stimulus if I ever saw one. It needed to be closer to $5000. That matches the depths of this thing.

Yeah, I bet you do.

Here's a "stimulus Czech"

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Does everyone get that? Someone like me, who is retired and experiencing no loss of income, would they get it?
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.

I'm relatively certain you will not be getting a check from Donald. Sorry.

I didn't mean me. Just asking about someone in my circumstances, not facing financial hardship because of the shutdown.

To answer your question, if you were American, you would be receiving $2,400.

So, I suppose the rationale must be that the recipient would go out and spend the money, thus stimulating the economy. But if there is nowhere to spend the money, except for essentials, the person would have been spending that much anyway, without the stimulus cheque.

The basic concept you outlined is correct. Most people will probably use the checks for bills or give the economy a nice pop when things reopen.

That's right. My Union pension pays in U.S. Dollars. I'm making out like a bandit every month when I convert it.
