Don Imus dies

Post by matt1 » Fri Dec 27, 2019 5:38 pm

Radio & TV man Don Imus has died at 79 years old. Back in September of 1973, NBC debuted a show on Saturday afternoon called "GO" & the debut episode was The Raspberries (with Eric Carmen) talking about their third album "Side 3" which is on YouTube!! Don was also on FOX Business channel back then. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Imus

Love him or hate him he was a consummate broadcaster, in that he was never boring. I also very much appreciated his obvious love of the English language and a fine practitioner of its spoken word.

I'm going to miss the mumbly old fart...

I'm surprised he lived this long.

Didn't he suffer a collapsed lung about five years ago?

Paul Woods reminds me a bit of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets when he speaks!

He also drank a lot and used drugs in the 70s and 80s.

I remember that the VERY short-lived talk format on 100.1 in Bear Lake aired his radio show (or was supposed to air it).
