Coronavirus Insanity
Re: Coronavirus Insanity
Local dairy farmers are dumping milk. They say demand has dropped off.
There is a glut of chicken wings because the sports bars are all closed.

I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.
Re: Coronavirus Insanity
Now I know TT is in Canada but is the U.S. also seeing a drop in demand that would contribute to farmers having nowhere to send their goods because nobody wants them? Combine that with labor and transportation issues and you’d have quite the perfect storm...
Re: Coronavirus Insanity
Yes. The drop in demand is coming from (I think) mostly the restaurants and commercial food prep places. There's probably some data out there if there is also a drop in the retail food stores, as I would think limiting hours and # of folks in each store would cut down on sales there too.

All great points... hopefully as much as possible goes to the food banks.km1125 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 4:44 pmYes. Re: Coronavirus Insanity
This isn't insanity. I just learned that a first cousin has died of Covid 19. I last saw her about four years ago at a family reunion

Re: Coronavirus Insanity
COVID 19. What a dumb name. Couldn't they have chosen a classier brand name than that for it? What other disease has a numerical component to its name?
Gone are the good old days of chickenpox, mumps, malaria or gonorrhea?

Re: Coronavirus Insanity
Well.. it’s a KIND of coronavirus but to differentiate strains they name/number them like that. Maybe Pangolinaria would make you feel it was more official?

She contracted the virus, while she was a patient in the hospital being treated for an unrelated condition

Re: Coronavirus Insanity
It's practically short form for "Corona Virus Disease 2019". I just call it the more general "coronavirus".

Well. they should have a contest to see who can come up with the most creative name for it.. I have already given it a name. It also starts with C, but I might get kicked off the bard if I spelled it out the rest of it.

Re: Coronavirus Insanity
Talked to a guy who has a business making and installing stair railings. He contracted with a builder to supply and install the front step railings on all the homes in a new subdivision.
He had the railing ready for one home into which the new owners are moving this week. He went there to install it Sunday afternoon when there were no other workers or anyone else around.
His business name is on his truck and right after he arrived a cop showed up.
The Cop told him his business wasn't essential and he had to leave.
He told the cop the new owners are moving in this week and the building code requires there to be a railing for the steps.
No good. The cop told him to get going. "If I see your truck on the road again. you'll be charged
