I'm on my 4th or 5th Trek. I once strayed and bought a Specialized and regretted it. Trek makes a solid bike. My wife had an Electra Townie and it was a real good bike too.

I'm a socialist and my neighbour is a conservative. But we're good friends. We aren't only neighbours here, we're also neighbours in Florida during the winter.

Our politics isn't our only area of difference. I'm a Trek guy and he's a devotee of the Specialized brand.

I always wear a helmet but he never wore a helmet until a year ago. We were out riding one day and he took a tumble. His head was bloody and he had blurred vision for a couple of months afterward. Now, he too always wears a helmet.
