HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Texas authorities are searching for a man who fled a Harris County bar after he accidentally shot a relative while pistol-whipping another customer late Sunday.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Luis Rivera.
According to KTRK, the shooting occurred at Micheladas La Barra at around 10:40 p.m.
Sgt. B. Beall told KHOU that first responders found the victim dead inside the bar, but the gunman, identified only as a Hispanic man in his 20s, had already fled.
The suspect’s vehicle has since been identified by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez as a 2009 silver Chevrolet Malibu with the Texas license tag JLX-3508, KTRK reported.
According to deputies, video from inside the bar appears to show an argument break out between two groups of people. The suspect pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and began beating one of the customers with the gun when it discharged and struck Rivera, KTRK reported.
Investigators believe the suspect is possibly en route to Laredo.
Anyone with information on the shooting or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at (713) 274-9100.

Calling this idiot a "gun enthusiast" is akin to calling Ted Bundy a fan of females.

From TT’s perspective, in a country of far fewer guns... folks who parade them out rather quickly or use them in this manner would appear to be gun enthusiasts.
