7's Brightest and Best
7's Brightest and Best
Channel 7 was celebrating it's 40th Brightest and Best today, I'm thinking that it used to be called the Best and Brightest, I wonder if it's some kinda PC move.
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
It was called Best of the Class. Changed due to copyrights that went with the song.

Given the state of Michigan education in 2019,I almost believe today's "Best Of Class" would have been C students in 1980 .

At least we Baby Boomers aren't MAJOR HYPOCRITES like the "Greatest Generation," who fought World War Two to end Naziism, only to practice apartheid against African Americans !!!!!
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
Could you take a moment and explain to the others what the Canadian Indian residential school system was about? You know, the unmarked graves where no one has even tried to determine who these kids are or even how many died.borderboy653659200 wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 6:49 pmAt least we Baby Boomers aren't MAJOR HYPOCRITES like the "Greatest Generation," who fought World War Two to end Naziism, only to practice apartheid against African Americans !!!!!
The 5% of Canada that is indigenous, makes up 30% of the shelter residents in Canada.
Dude... have you ever been outside Ontario?

FET500,as someone with Indigenous relatives (who lived next door when we were children),I know of the horrors of the residential schools whose heinous mission was "Save the child, kill the Indian," and which rent families, forbade the speaking of Indigenous languages and wearing of First Nations attire ,often physically and mentally abusing its young charges and are largely responsible for the horrible conditions in which many Indigenous Canadians live,on and off reservations .
Also, yes,I've left Ontario MANY,MANY TIMES .( How often have YOU visited Canada, boyo ?) You aren't fooling me,dude: You have as much concern (zilch) for North America's First Peoples as for African Americans and African Canadians.

Re: 7's Brightest and Best
Being "Brightest and Best" at a Detroit school is like being the world's tallest midget.
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
Hey Brad, where did you go to school?
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
I'm just curious.... Can there even be "Indigenous Canadians" if you they there before there was even a "Canadia"??
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
Who migrated there across the Bering Straight from the edge of Asia. Who migrated from central Asia. Who migrated from the Middle East. Who migrated from Africa. The whole "Indigenous Peoples" thing is crap. Pretty much every population everywhere came from somewhere else.

I went to school here in Windsor, bud. Indigenous Canadians are Canada's First Peoples, meaning they were here LONG BEFORE the first Europeans arrived. Just read a book or two about it .
Re: 7's Brightest and Best
I have read numerous books, bud. Where do you think those people came from? Do you think they just magically appeared in Canada? They crossed the Bering Straight from Asia. Before they crossed the Bering Straight they migrated across Asia. Before migrating across Asia they migrated across the Middle East. Before that they traveled out of Africa. This is all pretty common knowledge. Pretty much all people everywhere came from somewhere else. This is factual and cannot be denied as it is simple human history.borderboy653659200 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 11:52 amI went to school here in Windsor, bud.
