The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

Night time FM E-Skip

Right now at 11:15 EDT I have it on 88.7 and KUHF from Houston is coming in over top of Pure Country 89. Is it common for this to happen at this hour?

It's not "common" but not uhheard of. The amateur 6 meter band (50MHz) was also open to the west and south last night around that same time of night.
This propagation called "sporadic E" after all! :)
Looks like too long of a haul to be tropospheric.

E-layer can happen any time of day, but it's seasonal.

I remember volcano eruptions and possibly wildfires causing longer tropospheric DX on FM, 500 miles or so, caused by water condensing on dust particles. But not over 1000 miles.
