If they extend the FM band down to 82 MHz it means it will be changed for the first time since the 1940's when the
88-108 MHz segment was first allocated. In Sao Paulo, Brazil they went even further and now there are now broadcasts from 77.5 to 107.9 MHz.

Although there is no perfect solution for the crowded radio dials in many locations, this will be better than doing nothing about it at all. Also be sure to check out the link below.
