Received in Dewitt Township, Clinton County, just north of Lansing, with a Grundig Eton Traveler and a Sangean HDR-14:

88.5 WGVU Allendale, locking in HD - new catch for this locale
88.7 WIAA Interlochen
89.3 WGNB Zeeland
90.3 WBLV Twin Lake decoding with RDS despite the HD slop from WKAR
90.7 WHAD Delafield WI
90.9 WSLI Belding very strong with K-Love Classics translator (W215CH) off the air
91.9 WSMO Mount Forest (Smile FM) - new catch for this locale
93.1 WMPA Ferrysburg/Grand Haven
96.9 WWCM Standish
98.5 WUPS rock solid, local strength, no sign of usual WNWN
98.7 WFGR GR with perfect RDS, no sign of WDZH
99.3 WJQK Zeeland / WATZ Alpena
100.1 WVIB Holton - new catch for this locale
100.5 WTRV Walker/GR - cutting through HD slop from WITL
103.3 WGLX Wisconsin Rapids WI - suspected this was unID classic rock station cutting into WKFR
104.1 WSAG Linwood - intermittently taking out WVGR
104.3 WCZY Mt. Pleasant - intermittently taking out usually dominant WOMC
104.9 W285FO GR - new catch for this locale, no sign of usuals WBXX/WQBX
106.5 WYTE Marshfield WI - new catch for this locale, IDs of New Country Y106.5, in solidly for about 15 minutes with no sign of WVFM
106.7 WSRT Gaylord - Christmas music
107.7 WVCY Milwaukee fighting with WRKR
107.9 WMUS Muskegon fighting with WCRZ

I was in Whitehall the day before and picked up 93.3 KIOA from Des Moines. Milwaukee, Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, Racine, Chicago, Madison area and Wausau were all over the dial as well.

The Gaylord station's already playing Christmas music?

They were silent and came back on with Christmas music as a stunt. Apparently they're playing classic rock now, based on comments in the Up north section. Whether that's the permanent format, I can't say.

For 40 years or more, I have noticed that WRVM 102.7 Suring has been heard frequently in Eastern Michigan. It probably has to do with Lake Michigan being at the right distance, like Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, and Erie, PA, are to Lake Erie for very frequent tropospheric events over the Lake. The Lake Erie situation is so prevalent in Southeast and Central Eastern Michigan, that stations from that area have frequently blotted out cochannel FM and TV stations in Michigan over the years. This seems to be less prevalent from the Chicago Area, perhaps due to Lower ERP at Higher HAAT of most of the signals. When WLS-TV and WTTW were 316 kW, they boomed in frequently. WGN-TV was 112 kW and good in the middle of the Night, but due to WWTV and CKLW-TV/CBET signing off during there Night. I remember that in a trip to Canada, circa 1960, we stayed near Belleville, ON, and WCNY-TV 7 (now WWNY) Carthage Watertown, NY boomed in on the motel TV across Lake Ontario.
