Indespensible SW resource - HF Underground

The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

Indespensible SW resource - HF Underground

Post by Ed Joseph » Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:42 pm

HFU = High Frequency Underground. If it's on the bands, it's logged on HFU forums first... pirates, utilities, SWBC, 2-way... even AM, TV and FM DX. It's changed my shortwave listening hobby drastically, from what I log myself to getting QSL cards. I *so* wish I had access to something like this years ago! It's become the first read over morning coffee for me, even before fakebook! The SYSOP is an avid DXer and a great guy himself. I recommend this site to any radio freak!

Thanks for posting that. I've bookmarked it.

You have to use the good brand of duct tape. The cheap stuff, they can work it loose with their tongue.

My favorite source of HF BC info is gone. "What's on ShortWave right now" where You could type a freq and it would return a list of users and what one is currently on the air and some rough strengths of the signals you would likely hear AND the program language !!. Made it easy to be sure what foriegn language you wre hearing.
I really miss that service !
