Radio Shack had this multi-band radio back in the late 70s early 80s.
I tried one out at our local store. It was about 6:00 PM but it was winter and dark out already. The guy let me take it out into the mall parking lot to test it. I loved it. It was a really hot radio. But I had no money back then so I just took it back into the store and thanked the guy for letting me try it.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Realistic Patrolman 9
Realistic Patrolman 9
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.
Re: Realistic Patrolman 9
I've always liked the look of those 70s multiband radios. Unfortunately from what I've read a lot of them are junk. That PatrolMan looks interesting.
This is one of my favorite looking ones:

Re: Realistic Patrolman 9
I think we had the Patrolman 9, or something very similar to it. My mom liked to listen to the police and fire, after watching shows like EMERGENCY! and ADAM-12. I remember the two antennas on the top. It probably shows up in some of the old pictures.
Re: Realistic Patrolman 9
The couple I had did not have much selectivity. Which was kinda neat on VHF. I could get in local PD and the sheriff without turning the knob.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

Ran across an old pic from the 70's as I was converting a bunch of slides to digital.
