A Satellite TV Question

Post by Turkeytop » Wed Jan 01, 2020 11:00 pm

When the receiver loses signal due to heavy rain or from ice on the dish, a message comes on the screen.

Satellite signal has been lost. You can wait for it to return, or you can select Video On Demand.
If coditions do not permit reception of a regular signal, how is it possible to deliver video on demand?

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

That's one thing I hated about having a dish (DirecTV). Get up in the middle of the night to brush the snow off the dish hoping you don't knock it out of alignment. Even if it got too cloudy or had drizzle I'd have signal issues.
