WTAC News opening (1974)

Post by matt1 » Thu Jun 29, 2023 3:10 pm

Heard this for the first time when I was 9 years old on my Panasonic Panapet 70 AM radio chain light blue ball in July of 1974 when I heard this which starts at the 0:17 mark till 0:36 mark when the late Johnny Cole did 600 WTAC News at the top of the hour!! Also David Letterman had this during his "Late Show" on CBS when he was looking at the cards or looking at something!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfRhlMj ... ioInsanity

That was the news sounder for the American Contemporary Network news. I remember also hearing it on WLS and other stations.

The NBC one sounds terrible! I like the rest of them, though.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I heard the signal back in July of 1974 on 600 WTAC when Rare Earth 1970 song "Get Ready" was playing (short edited version) & Peter Rivera the drummer said "Mmm-hmm" (which fades out) & then the signal was heard at the 4:00 top of the hour!!
