Lodging/hospital cable lineups

Post by mtburb » Wed Feb 27, 2019 11:10 am

A recreation of this thread that was lost to the 2018 crash, but I'm expanding this to include hospital lineups as well.

Basically, just like the old thread, this is a catch-all thread for lodging (including hotels and motels) and hospital cable lineups.

This is the lineup for the Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte:
37.1 WJBK (Fox 2 Detroit)
37.2 WWJ (CBS 62 Detroit)
37.3 WDIV (NBC 4 Detroit)
37.4 WKBD (CW 50 Detroit)
37.5 WXYZ (ABC 7 Detroit)
37.6 WMYD (MNTV 20 Detroit)
37.7 Univision (national feed)
37.8 Weathernation (national feed) (video feed was too glitchy, though audio was fine)
38.1 WTVS (PBS 56 Detroit)
38.2 WADL (Independent 38 Mount Clemens)
38.3 WPXD (Ion 31 Ann Arbor)
38.4 National Geographic
38.5 Hallmark Channel
38.6 Fox Sports Detroit
38.7 Big Ten Network
38.8 ESPN
39.1 ESPN2
39.2 CNN
39.3 MSNBC
39.4 CNBC
39.5 Fox News Channel
39.6 TLC (lineup paper still calls this The Learning Channel!)
39.7 Discovery Channel
39.8 USA
40.1 Food Network
40.2 Animal Planet
40.3 A&E
40.4 History Channel
40.5 Disney Channel
40.6 Nickelodeon
40.7 TV Land
40.8 TNT
41.1 Freeform
41.2 TBS
41.3 Lifetime
41.4 AMC
41.5 Turner Classic Movies
41.6 Bravo
41.7 E!
41.8 HGTV

Missing a good number of channels that the main Wyandotte system carries, such as CBET, WGTE, WDWO, the broadcast channel's subchannels, VH1, WGN America, Cartoon Network, The Weather Channel (though Weathernation makes up for that), C-Span, C-Span 2, Paramount Network, Comedy Central and TruTV just to name a few.

On the inverse side, this lineup does carry two channels that the main Wyandotte system doesn't carry-Univision and Weathernation.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Ft Lauderdale doesn't have one or two of its own independent stations?

Another odd thing about the Ramada Hammond lineup is that they carry Hallmark Movies and Mysteries but not Hallmark Channel

I once knew of an Eagles Club hall that put in their own modulator. No clue why, I was called in to hook a PC up to the modulator because no one knew how to set the channels.

I’m in a hotel in New Buffalo right now, and they have the South Bend locals (of course), plus WBBM, WMAQ, WLS, and WTTW from Chicago, and WWMT from Kalamazoo. Surprised they allow so many out of market stations, but it’s great to have.

Sadly, it’s WGN America instead of the real thing.

Comcast in New Buffalo carries the channels above. Also, I think a hotel (or other closed system meant for only one building or a group of related buildings) could carry anything they can get OTA

My hotel in Hamilton, ON carries the Detroit locals (2, 4, 7, 56, and 62), but surprisingly not Buffalo, even though you should be able to pick them up with a decent antenna.

I don't remember the channel list, but the Ramada Inn in Grayling's list doesn't match what the channels on the TV are. If I recall, the channels found when flipping through channels is the Traverse City Charter lineup, but the little card is something else, possibly an old Charter lineup, or their own modulator setup at one time.

The ironic thing is that Grayling's Charter lineup is vastly different than the Traverse City Charter lineup. The Ramada could be picking up one of the satellite companies and then relocating the channels to their position on the TC Charter lineup

Right, I remember. That whole area of Grayling/Roscommon/Houghton Lake/West Branch all have their own lineup. It's an odd thing, but maybe that's because all four are at the edge of both Traverse City/Cadillac DMA and Tri-Cities DMA? I remember whatever channel WLLZ was (I think 12?) in Houghton Lake used to automatically flip to WPBN signal when WLLZ was lost. No clue what it was setup that way.
