George Jonescu RIP

Post by Turkeytop » Sun Nov 18, 2018 8:03 pm

A Sunday Evening fixture on CFZM Toronto has passed. For the past 16 years George Jonescu's program Big Band Sunday Night aired every Sunday night from 7:00 to 11:00 PM, featuring music from the big band era.

Jonescu recorded his final program Thursday afternoon just hours before his sudden death. The program is airing tonight and I'm listening for the last time.

You have to use the good brand of duct tape. The cheap stuff, they can work it loose with their tongue.

Wow! Too bad. I don't necessarily listen to his show too often but I do like some of CFZM's other evening programming (especially old radio shows). They come in quite reliably at my East Jordan location in the evening.
