Re: Schematic Diagram For Realistic STA-111
Thanks. When things get back to more normal conditions, praying and positively thinking that they will, I'll look into it.

Re: Harbor Springs Good Hart Cross Village FM Transmitters
Enter PLN in upper left box. 500 foot towers are almost always State owned and do not have broadcast antennas on them. Too bad, they could probably generate revenue. Very nearby towers may have antennas on them though.

The 10 transmitters use four different towers.

Re: 102.7 wmom back on air
Let's just say, different people were in charge during the Z95 days, and leave it at that. At first, I thought you meant 95.1 Union Grove, WI, which was previously known as WJ Z Q. Not sure if they ever called it Z95 though. The owner of WMOM was once a WLS Teenage Guest Disk Jockey, and managed st...

Re: WWV / WWVH
Is CHU back on 7850 kHz?
A few months ago, reception was bad Night after Night. Other Nights CHU 3330 was stronger than any other time signal I could receive. It is much closer to Michigan, from SW of Ottawa.
When WWV transmitted from Beltsville, MD, it was strong nearly every Night on 5 MHz.

Re: Could A Noncommercial And Commercial Station Share One Channel Like 6 And 53?
Flint is the largest city in the state and maybe the US without a PBS affiliate serving it with a strong signal. The neighboring signals are abysmal. You would have thought that U of M and CMU would have tried harder. PBS could go on a sub channel or two of a commercial signal in the area. That's wh...

Re: Could A Noncommercial And Commercial Station Share One Channel Like 6 And 53?
The only thing is that noncommercial TVs operate on reserved noncommercial TV channels, and that has been a problem in the past, like Chicago, where they swapped a noncommercial channel in Gary, IN for a commercial channel in Chicago. Even that was a problem.

Re: WJML
When did they call it "Super JML"? Are you sure you're not thinking of "Super CFL" which used to be big in Northern Michigan before FM took off, and with formats other than Beautiful Music? Kris Erik Stevens from the Marquette Area had a H*** following in the UP when he was on WLS and WCFL.

Current Surges Due To Reduced Usage?
We just had an appliance blow out. The measured line voltage is 123 volts. Could a surge result from reduced electric usage due to closures?

Re: Ever Hear Of A Rotator?
It's hard to judge the dimensions. They do look like European models. I've seen some of these designs on the K6STI site designed/cut for TV and FM. But that explains why there are no obvious preamps. They must be to contact various repeaters. Maybe they are in a remote area or valley. What's the box...

Re: 24 hr service/power
Too bad they decommissioned Conelrad. They could have told the Daytimers to move to 640 or 1240 so as not to interfere with many existing full-time stations. I remember Conelrad being tested. I don't remember much, but I turned on the TV and there were no stations on the air. I don't know about CKLW...

Re: 24 hr service/power
You may want to email Dale.Bickel@fcc.gov to see if he knows of any special statements addressing this. If I were the FCC, I would address this special situation. I think I would specify that they must use no more than the minimum power necessary to serve the community and surrounding area. I would ...
