Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

Lester The Nightfly wrote:So why should there be any expectation they do anything but sit at home in November?
Simple answer. Supreme Court vacancies. Trump or Hillary could end up being a 4-year President, but the impact of their Supreme Court nominations could last a lifetime.

Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

Cruz did not exit with class, IMO. Not once did he congratulate Trump on his victory. I got the impression listening to his otherwise boring speech that he will not support Trump and that he will even continue to fight against Trump. I think he will do this not because he thinks that is what is good...

Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

As soon as Carly took the podium I had a gut feeling Cruz was going to drop out.

Interesting that the Podium they spoke in front of said Cruz/Fiorina 2016.

So now the million dollar question - how many of the "Anybody but Trump" republicans will show up at the polls in November and vote for Trump?

Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

Cruz is gonna speak soon? Is he going to drop out?

As far as Fiorina, I don't think it is why Cruz lost. I think his deal with Kasich hurt him far worse.

Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

The biggest problem I have with Cruz is that he's a hypocrite. He called for Kasich to get out of the race because he couldn't reach 1237, and now that Cruz can't get their either, he's not taking his own advice. When called out yesterday by a Trump supporter on this point, he didn't really have a r...

Joe Biden made a funny joke about this point back in March:
Joe Biden wrote:Look, I told Barack if you really, really want to remake the Supreme Court, nominate Cruz...Before you know it, you’ll have eight vacancies.

Re: Cruz Campaign is Done

I think Cruz suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Anybody see any of his Meet the Press interview today?

Re: Woody Guthrie Is Spinning In His Grave

I'm going to hold off making a general election prediction until after they duke it out in a debate. I would bet at least 30 million people watch the first Presidential debate (assuming it is indeed Trump v. Hillary) and I think that first debate could swing the polls 5 points one way or the other. ...

Re: Woody Guthrie Is Spinning In His Grave

Kasich is too electable for Republican voters. The party is lost somewhere out there and we all just wonder why... Kasich got into the race too late AND he totally bombed in the early debates (I remember him doing so bad that I thought he would be one of the early exits). Otherwise he could have es...

Re: Woody Guthrie Is Spinning In His Grave

The only candidate who I think ever posed any kind of a threat to Trump was Jeb Bush, and Trump neutralized him pretty early on. Cruz only ever started to ascend after Ben Carson slid, but Ben Carson was never a threat and by the time Cruz started moving up, it was already too late.

Re: It's over already!

Looks like Trump gets at least 56 delegates in Pennsylvania, Cruz gets 2, and 13 are undecided/uncommitted. That brings Trump's number to 993. New Jersey is a given, so that puts him at 1044. West Virginia's rules are such that he should get at least 31 out of 34 delegates there given his 20 point l...

Re: Damn Global Warming...

I'm all for cleaner water and cleaner air, and I think most people would agree that cleaner air and cleaner water are a good thing and that reasonable government regulations should be in place to ensure cleaner air and cleaner water. So why don't those on the left argue their agenda on those merits ...

Re: Old cable lineups

Kinda scary that I remember these channel numbers, having not had cable in over 20 years, but growing up as a kid in the 1980s here is what I remember: Tawas/Oscoda 2 USA 3 QVC 4 TBS 5 HBO* 6 WGN 7 WNEM 5 8 PBS (WCMU) 9 Fox (I think 50) 10 WEYI 25 11 WBKB 11 12 WJRT 12 13 Advertising (with 104.7 WKJ...

Re: Damn Global Warming...

Oh no, not another global warming debate. These are almost as useless as gun control debates. I've pretty much settled on this stance: Is the earth getting warmer? Probably. Is man contributing to the earth getting warmer? Probably. Do we know how much man is contributing to the earth getting warmer...
