I remember some DJ on WABX pronouncing INXS as Inks. :lol

I did that the first time I came across the band, but that was at a Florida AOR station. I blame the PD: He should have put a pronouncer on the album cover.

Re: WDVD Rebrands Its Morning Show

No one is driving to work listening to radio anymore. There's probably tens of thousands that no longer work every day in Detroit alone. Most people will have the TV on in the background at home, not the radio like they would at work. Amazon truck drivers look young, so I'm assuming that they are us...

I followed the New Wave/Alternative format across the radio dial in the 80's and 90's.
Listen to 99 and half WABX when it was more free format.

Re: Favorite Short Lived Format

I always thought that Sony MiniDiscs were cool. They had the best anti-skip protection with almost zero skipping when you were running. You'd think that alone would have increased their popularity.
Oh. Sorry. Wrong format discussion.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

This is the most over-hyped programming ever! There's so many news outlets. WXYZ studios has 1.5 hours of news every night from 10 to 11:35. Why do we need local CBS now? Less and less people watch local channels each year.

Re: Drew & Mike Podcast Complaint Thread

I enjoy the show. I've been listening since high school. Its almost as if I've grown up having Drew around. That said, I still cannot stand Karl, nor do I wanna hear about Stuttering John. I also can't imagine anyone really wanting to know what's up with the Stuttering one, Karl might have some fan...

Hes been given the boot at 2 and now 4. Coincidence or the start of a trend?
Carr was let go at 2 as part of a mass layoff. Anyone who's contract was up, was let go. They only brought back Lee Thomas because many attacked Fox for letting him go. Carr got hired by WDIV the next day.

Re: Drew & Mike Podcast Complaint Thread

The show is 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. No other podcasts do that. Imagine how sick of the people from your favorite podcast you would get if they were on for that long and you listened to every episode entirely. You should appreciate a local Detroit podcast with high quality audio and drops, not ...

Matt Riley is a disaster too. The guy sounds worse than Darren McCarty and is an alcoholic
Never understood why he comes on every year. He does not have the voice or personality.

Re: Maurielle Lue thinks she’s the next Beyoncé

She's beautiful and fun. Everyone wants female hosts to act like their doing the evening news. People used to hate on Deena for being too into herself, now it's Maurielle.

Re: Bernie?

Bernie has a lot of money. It's time for someone younger to make money there. They won't ever make the tens of millions that he made. I heard that $300,000 was standard for an evening sports guy in Detroit during the '90s. Heck, I know for a fact that in the '00s, Charles Pugh was making over $200,0...

Re: Local and national automotive press are asleep at the wheel...again

I saw an ad for a Jeep Compass that used to advertise for $199 a month, now it's $289 a month. No one is looking to buy cars right now, unless they have to. Ford trucks are in demand and on backorder just because they are write-offs for businesses. A couple of coworkers extended their lease, hoping ...

Re: Jason Carr

Why do people on here constantly bash male radio or TV stars in the Detroit are? Carr was let go from Fox when his contract was up, and WDIV signed him probably the next day it seemed. Women watch The Nine and Live in the D. It's facts.
