Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
I, too, was encouraged by his improved play during the final 30 to 40 days of the regular season. Now that I'm better aware of how crappy the 2020 draft class was, I'm not going to hold the pick of Killian Hayes over Weaver's head. There were probably no more than five players picked later than Haye...

I disagree, zzand. Pro-abortion legislation would never be able to get past a filibuster in the Senate.
That raises another question: will Dems try to pass legislation to eradicate the filibuster? I think Manchin would vote no.

Re: Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (19-1392)
I agree with today's ruling. Roe was ruled wrongly from the start. That said, the legal quagmire in Michigan needs to be resolved ASAP. The early 1930s law, for which a Court of Claims injunction presently exists, is written too simplistically. The election implications at the county, state and fede...

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
I'll give Weaver a bit of a pass on Killian Hayes only because he managed to pick up Beef Stew and Saddiq Bey in that same draft. (Bey was a steal.)
Also, outside of the top 3, the top 10 of the 2020 NBA draft class has proven to be quite underwhelming.

Re: Republicans failed attempt at stealing an election
The only "drastic changes" most voters are going to care about are (A) the drastically higher gas prices, (B) the drastically higher food prices, (C) the drastically higher crime rates, and to a lesser extent, (D) the drastically reduced cognitive abilities of our sitting President. In other words,...

Re: Wild Wild West of Metro Detroit
Gang violence in general - or at least the affiliation of violent thugs with gangs - seems to be vastly underreported.
Social media outlets need to start being held accountable for facilitation of criminal activity, in my opinion.

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
Weaver sounds like an 80 year old man when he speaks.
Time will tell how good Duren can play off the ball. I'm not having the same level of euphoria some in the media are having over this pick. I like it, but I'm not ecstatic by any stretch.

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
Update - all the Pistons gave away to acquire Duren and Kemba Walker was the 2025 first round pick they acquired from Milwaukee.
I love this move. Gives Pistons plenty of options in the Ayton sweepstakes.

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
Pistons reportedly just made a deal for Jalen Duren (no. 13 pick selected by Charlotte, a Center who played college ball in Memphis and declared for draft after one season) and aging former all star Kemba Walker (Guard). Wouldn't be surprised if both never put on a Pistons uniform. Could be trade ba...

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
Yes, they should pursue Ayton aggressively. I was hoping Keegan Murray would slip to number five. That said, the more I read about Ivey, the more comfortable I've become with this outcome! It appears a lot of NBA pundits were surprised the Kings didn't take Ivey at number four. Jaden Ivey's family i...

Re: See ya, Jerami Grant
The 2025 first round draft pick the Blazers handed the Pistons was via the Bucks. Milwaukee didn't give up anything; the draft pick was the result of a prior deal between Milwaukee and Portland. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/2022-nba-draft-knicks-will-trade-up-to-no-4-chet-holmgren-to-have-best...

Re: 2021 Ford Broncos are rolling shitboxes
Bear in mind, too, that it is mated to a continuously variable transmission! If a hybrid version is released, it will be interesting to see by how much the 0 to 60 time improves. The all-gas version of the Corolla Cross, which is a shorter vehicle than the new HR-V yet is regarded as a direct compet...

Re: 2021 Ford Broncos are rolling shitboxes
Well, among the new vehicles that are of interest to me, we can scratch the 2023 Honda HR-V off the list. I learned yesterday that its 0 to 60 time is an anemic 10.9 seconds. Not surprising given its dinky 2.0L naturally aspirated engine. That size engine, which reportedly produces only 140 lb feet ...

See ya, Jerami Grant
He is now a Trailblazer. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2022/06/22/detroit-pistons-trade-jerami-grant-portland-2025-first-round-pick/7706366001/ I like the move, but Pistons need to parlay that cap room into a meaningful signing. Grant is a ball hog who was never going to mesh well w...
