Re: Sinclair's WWMT hit by ransomware

Looks like it stopped being frozen for a day or two at most, but now it is back to frozen on a mortgage help commercial. I also noticed 41.4 had a PC update message plastered over the radar image. I wonder if anyone watches their own stations anymore?

I don't know if this is related but Comet 15.3 has had the same frozen scene on for days.
I have been seeing that too. Just a frozen frame with a fat diagonal line. Perhaps they haven't noticed it yet.

It's happening again tonight. I'm picking up WILX (RF 10) from here in Saugatuck, about 100 miles away.

Re: WTLJ adding 3 subchannels

Don't know what the durability of my 12-year old "Local Special" antenna was expected to be, WZZM and its outlets fell out of service about 2 years ago. I modified my area special antenna by removing the UHF-only element designed for RF 35 and 54. It now consists of 2 antennas. The VHF-only element...

Re: WLLA has subs… lots of them…

Has something gone wrong with WLLA's digital configuration? A year and a half ago I could get them intermittently. About a year ago they got a new antenna that changed them from feeble to butt-kicking (quoting Radio Chili on that one). I could receive them nearly 100% of the time. Now it seems to be...

Re: WYCE... future?

A few random responses. Back in the 1990s, I think the station manager made $20,000/year. I think they had one other paid position for operations/music director who made something similar. Everyone else was volunteer. GRTV has been it's sugar daddy I'm sure since they purchased it. The station has a...

Things are *very* much improved here in Saugatuck. They were only about 50% viewable before the boost. They have been solid several days now.

Re: Storms 6/26

I was driving through central Michigan yesterday. Good thing I had a weatherradio in the car. Local radio stations were useless. I did receive some notifications on my phone that severe weather was in the area. If I hadn't had the weatherradio, I wouldn't have known whether it would be best to keep ...

Re: FCC repack

I can remember when WKAR moved from 10 (shared with WILX) to 23. Our school had some TVs with rabbit ears antennas to watch some PBS shows. Us kids were not happy when we lost our shows. It took the school a while to figure out they needed UHF bowtie antennas to replace the rabbit ears.

So did 3.0 ever launch on WXSP-CD and WOLP-CD?

- Trip
Apparently, yes, although I don't have the equipment to independently verify it.

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin

Looks like WOOD, WXMI and WWMT are each adopting one 15.x channel so 15 can upgrade to ATSC 3.0.
