Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

102.5 was WNEM-FM in the early 60s. Wikipedia sez the CLS changed to WGER in 1969 when Gerity Broadcasting sold WNEM-TV.

Re: Beautiful Music Stations in Detroit

[ They are only listenable on SDRs -- but Radio Enciclopedia on 530 from Cuba sounds like a 60s US easy listening station, with a Latin flavor and Spanish talk, and many instrumental versions of American top 40 hits. Jewel 92.1 still plays easy listening music, per their website from 7 to 11 PM. On ...

So that's what that is. I've been hearing Spanish music over and under C2C AM on WGY in Lakeport.

Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?

On AM, YVKS in Caracas Venezuela, on 750, late one night a couple years ago, covering WSB for over an hour. YVKS is a heritage YV stn that signed on in 1930. On FM, 93.1 KRVN-FM in Lexington Nebraska, one afternoon during an ES opening. Their AM 880 can be heard now and then in the winter, just befo...

Buried somewhere in the last break before the TOH: "WBTI Lexington-Sarnia-Port Huron" (and if you aren't listening for it, you'll miss it). Their xmtr site is in Lexingon, the city of license. In the TOH jingle, only Port Huron is mentioned.

"white noise ... "

You're already hearing white noise. Songs by white bands trying to sound black. And it's noise.

Re: Roop Raj: social justice warrior

Roop needs to stop taking himself so seriously. Sticks and stones . . . ? (I'm sure, since he's 100 pct American, born here, etc etc, he's heard that one.)

Re: Holy Shnikies! What’s wrong with that Marysville council candidate?

There's also no truth to the rumor that you can't listen to WSAQ (107.1, country) unless you have a Bridge Card. I asked the ground people that one year at the Roof-Sit (Chuck Santoni, W-OLD, on the roof of Birchwood Mall every September collecting donations for charity). They said not the case. Tha...

Re: Holy Shnikies! What’s wrong with that Marysville council candidate?

A survey made a few years ago named Port Huron America's 1109th best small city. Which is really unfair. They have two new Starbucks and a Panda Express, and that should be enough to, if the survey was made today, get them at least into the low 900s. IMO the most remarkable thing -- since this is a ...

Re: Big changes in just released June ratings survey; WJR hits all-time record low

65, wow. They need someone the young people will like, who can get those millennials and Gen Zs to rediscover AM radio. Say, a thirtyish female, maybe a trans, at least a lesbian and definitely out, who giggles a lot and frequently doesn't come to work (calls in "sick"), forcing her producer to cove...

Bill Harris spending his entire career in Flint tells me all I need to know about him. Grand peche, petit etang. And happy to be that.

Re: Two AM 1210’s

WJNL is an infrequent visitor just before sunset in Lakeport. I remember KGYN as a regular on Monday mornings when WCAU was off. The other one I've heard is KOKK in Huron SD, that's easy to log if you hear baseball PBP under WPHT. The Minnesota Twins web site still lists them as a radio affiliate (d...

Re: The most viral video now? MLive!

No, and the writer also can't be bothered with sentence structure (note the excessive use of dashes to avoid it), consistently capitalizing the councilman's last name, or using an apostrophe to make it possessive. And BTW "First Amendment" when it refers to the one in the US Constitution is a proper...
