I wonder how long it will take before Cleveland's hospitals are overrun with seizure patients!

That really is a WTF, wtf!wtfdetroit wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 9:45 pmI’ve noticed wjbk is not coming in that great in Ferndale. It’s been acting up the last 6 weeks or so.
Their transmitter is at their office/studio site, 9 Mile/Southfield Fwy.
Their signal should be atomic-bomb-proof in Ferndale.

Re: WJBK signal interference?
Regardless of a physical channel move or not, won't the transition to ATSC 3.0 require full power stations to replace their transmitting antennas? <snip> No. WJBK will still be using its antenna to radiate from 174-180 MHz, only instead of transmitting a single pilot signal at the bottom of its ban...

Re: WJBK signal interference?
True, though in this case, I believe WJBK is the only TV facility on that tower (with the possible exception of the transitional antenna that is likely still in place as an auxiliary backup). WJBK has been on RF 7 since the move from channel 58 to 7 in 2009. I seriously doubt they entered the auctio...

Re: WHPS 15.1
Not a hint of any signal on RF15 inside the city limits (NW).Could be that my UHF split antenna panels are aimed from NE-NW, so If WHPS is still transmitting from Radio Place along I-96 I should be getting something from them off the back side regardless. The new tower site is just north of where t...

Re: Old Class C WMBN-FM/WLXT Site Near Cross Village
I do know I was impressed with how strong "Michigan's Beautiful North" was on Deadstream Road (the road that divides the Platte Lakes).
In those years (1975-1985), FM was growing like crazy everywhere along the shoreline. Every summer when we got to the cabin, there were several new FMs to try out.

Re: WJBK signal interference?
I've been noticing lately that we're seeing a lot of periodic tiling on FOX2. Signal seems fine for a while, then there will be a few minutes of intermittent tiling and loss of audio, then it will be OK for a bit. Noticing the same thing at sites on the west side (Northville) as well as in St Clair...

Perhaps they are promoting their 2019-2020 schedule to viewers in the Pacific Time Zone, where it will be seen at 11:34 PM PDT?

Stable 600-mile reception to the Dakotas and Minnesota all afternoon and evening from atop Sleeping Bear Dunes, coastal site #74 of 76, 505 feet above the water. Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?
Last time in I was Marine City a year ago, downtown was mostly abandoned, both in people walking around and open businesses. How much of what you saw are summer tourists? Could things have somehow rapidly turned around in a year? I don’t think a place is improving just because channel 4 says so- I ...

Re: Your best ever car radio?
It was the only time I ever experienced AM stereo. Why did the broadcasting industry abandon that mode? A few reasons I've heard: 1. AM stereo was replaced with IBOC 2. Format changed to talk, no need for stereo 3. Coverage is lessened 4. Equipment failed and don't want to fix/replace..... Fallacy!...

Wow.
Will Flint (where WFUM was sold off in the spectrum auction) be cut off from PBS entirely?
Is any PBS reliably available in flint?
Is there any available channel for a PBS translator?
Maybe 8?

Re: Big News regarding ESPN 1000, Chicago
WTMJ/WKTI are obviously still Nielsen subscribers via an inherited contract with Scripps, and 540 got carried over. I’d expect that contract to lapse at some point. 'TMJ is a MLB and NFL flagship. I'll bet you a beer that they are required by contract to be a Nielsen subscriber. WKNR doesn't subscr...

Re: 40 years ago in 1979
I forgot to mention that Traverse City, Michigan station "106 KHQ" (actually 105.9 FM) debuted on May 8, 1980. Did not heard that station until December of 1980 with the reel to reel tape & also the same announcer who would tell you the song by the artist or group as he did on "ROCK 106 WIOG"!!! I ...
